Its about that time! We have begun to read! Its so fascinating to see how far all of the kindergartens have come. They came into class knowing only few letters to being able to read a whole book. All of them are super excited about their reading abilities, and even more excited about taking a book home and getting to read to you! Please make sure they read their guided reading book to you at least once a night. Reading it over and over with help with their fluency (how smoothly they read) and also because more comfortable with reading all together. After reading with your child don’t forget the sign their reading log. I love to see comments on the reading log's also because it lets me know how their reading is at home with someone different than myself. Enjoy your time with your child and read LOTS of book.
