I am going to try something new this year. I would like to implement "show and tell" into our weekly letter studies. Every Thursday I will ask the students to bring one thing that begins with the letter that we are studying for the week. Their item must be able to fit in their backpack, and can only be taken out during our "Show and Tell" time. This week our letter study was on the letter Ff. I didn't tell parents but I told the kids, "If you remember, bring something that starts with the Ff sound".
There were only a handful of kids that remembered, but it gave me an opportunity to give this new activity a trial run. I think by going home and finding one item with the appropriate sound, they are having a one on one mini lesson with their parent/guardian to review the letter of the week.
