Detailed Second Grade Daily Schedule

2014-2015

7:30-8:00 Arrival and Warm-ups
Students will be let into the school building no earlier than 7:30, eat breakfast if needed, and walk directly to their classroom.  Students are expected to come to class prepared with all supplies and ready to learn as soon as they arrive.

8:00-8:05 KPRIDE Announcements
The school wide announcements will be played via web-streaming. 

8:05 –9:35 Writer's Workshop
The teacher will follow the CISD R.E.A.D.S literacy model for each students to read, write and comprehend on the appropriate level in order to be successful in the grade level.

9:35 –10:00 Reader's Workshop
The teacher will follow the CISD R.E.A.D.S literacy model for each students to read, write and comprehend on the appropriate level in order to be successful in the grade level.

10:00-10:30 Guided Reading/Enrichment/Literacy Stations
Stations are used to address language arts and math TEKS that student’s can work on alone or with a partner. The teacher will work with small guided reading groups on reading skills.

10:30 –11:00 Science/Social Studies
The teacher will follow Science and Social Studies TEKS while integrating lessons with reading and writing in order to be successful in the grade level. 

11:00-11:55 Specials
Art, Music, and Physical Education

12:05-12:35 Lunch

12:35-1:05 Recess/Restroom Break

1:05-2:35 Math/Guided Math
Math lessons which build a foundation of basic understandings in numbers, operation, and quantitative reasoning and problem solving followed by math stations/centers

2:55– 3:00 D.E.A.R/Dismissal
Review the day, pack up and dismiss
