King and Queen Bees

Everyday I pick a student to be King or Queen Bee of the day.  They get to wear a crown and be my helper through out the day.  We also use their names to learn about letters.  We count haw many letters are in their name, We cut their name apart and put it back together, we identify the capital letter in their names and the lowercase letters, and we do a special cheer with the king/queens name.  The students have really enjoyed doing this....and the anticipation of who the lucky student is makes me smile.  Every child will get a chance to be king or queen.  When your child is king/queen, they  will come home with a name puzzle.  Keep this puzzle and practice with it to help your child identify the letters in their names, and spell and write their name.  Pictures of this months kings and queens will be posted at the end of the week.

Cant wait?  Go look on our Facebook Page!
