Every week I send home 7 words to be studied and practiced in multiple different ways. We also play games and work with these words during our school days.
At the end of each week, I place the words we have been working on for a week on the word wall. For then on out I expect the students to spell these words correctly in their everyday use.
Today we talke about using these words to help us slepp other words. For example. One of our word wall words is many. Well, if you can spell 'many', you can easily spell 'any'. Having this "word power" will also help you spell the word 'ANYthing' the correct way instead of spelling it how most begin to spell it (enething).
We will continue to strive to boost or word power and make our writing more readable to others reading it.
Please know that student are docked points on their assignments for misspelled word wall words, no matter the subject (math, science, language arts, or social studies).
Continue to work with these words in homework, and in everyday use.
