During our Hh show and tell we saw a horse, a hog, a hamster, hats, a headband and Hello Kitty!  Way to use your noggins! Those were awesome Hh items.  :)

 

Cheez-Its with letters!

Look at this cool snack! We tried to find cheezits that had letter found in our names. We love learning through snacks!

Letter Study: Ii

Every week we will be doing a letter study. All last week we went over the letter Ii. Your child should know the sound Ii makes and be able to identify the letter. Please review this letter with your child. This week, we will be working on the letter Mm.

The Alphabet

Last week we touched a lot on the alphabet.  What is the alphabet? How many letters does it have? What are capital and lowercase letters? These are all questions we hope to have mastered by the end of the year...or even sooner.  This is a picture of us working with out alphabet arches. We are matching up the letters. Soon, we hope to know all the letters in the arch.

We finally got the Alphabet Books I ordered!  The book above is what we will be housing all our “letter creations” in!  When we finish the book, it will com home as a keep sake, and extra practice for the letters and their sounds.

Starfall

Today we used www.starfall.com to further explore the letter Mm.  Starfall is a great tool for the letters and their sounds.  There is a link to the website in the right had column of the blog.  Have fun exploring the site.

Letter Bags

I would like to put together little letter bags that are filled with items that begin with that letter. For instance.  In the Mm bag, I would like to have money, a magnet, a mint, a monkey, etc.  If you have a small item that you can donate to the class that begins with the letter Mm, please send it to school.  Next week we will be focusing on the letter Ff.  If you would like to have a head start on next week and send Ff items, that will be appreciated as well.  Remember, this item will not be returned.  We will be using these things all year in our learning stations.  THANKS!
