This week we worked on identifying the Texas and American flag. The kids have done very well with this. We have also worked on identifying the characteristics of each flag. The Texas flag has ONE star, and two stripes. The American flag has 50 stars and 13 stripes. The American flag is a little more tricky. :)
We colored the flags. We tried our very best to make “Neat Pete’s” and not “Sloppy Joe’s”. That means we tried to color and stay in the lines instead of just scribbling. If you have a coloring book at home, this is something you can definitely practice.
WE also make the Texas flag with construction paper! That was fun! It is always great to use and strengthen our fine motor with cutting and gluing. It was so very quiet in the class when we worked on this project. Takes a lot of concentration for this age to cut and glue!
